Hello folks, lovely afternoon here at MNP Park where the Carleton Ravens are getting ready to face off against Laval Rouge et Or in women's rugby action. thirty minutes till kickoff.
The Ravens are coming off a 91-0 loss to their cross town rivals, the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees. In Lavals last game they defeated the University of Sherbrooke 94-0. Two recent lopsided games for each team.
The Ravens are 0-3 for the season scoring only 8 points in all three games combined. The Rouge et Or are 2-1 only losing to the first place Gee-Gees by 16 points. Out of eight teams the Ravens are in the eighth and last place while the Rouge et Or sit in fourth.
The game is about to start as the Ravens prepare to kick to the Rouge et Or.
Short kick to start off the game, a big run already by Laval taking the ball all the way to the Ravens 40 yard line.
Laval scored the first try of the game, the kick is good as the Rouge et Or now lead the Ravens 7-0 three minutes into the game.
Ravens respond with a try of their own by Scrum Half Briana Yerbury. The kick is wide left, the Ravens cut the deficit to just 2 points as the Rouge et Or lead 7-5.
Laval scores another try after a 15 yard run by Marian Bibeau. A difficult angle to kick and it is no good. The Rouge et Or lead 12-5.
Neither team gaining any ground currently as the ball has been trapped along the 50 yard line for 3 minutes.
Scrum is stopped at the 50 yard line as the referee is talking to a Laval player. Looks like a disagreement is occurring.
A missed tackle by the Ravens led to good field position for the Rouge et Or.
A whistle in favor of the Ravens has given the Ravens a chance to get the ball out of their territory.
